Scored a Philco 48-1001 off CL
1 Attachment(s)
Found this on CL last night for $50, sent a text and called them this morning to arrange pick up.
I just got back with it, 44 miles each way, not too bad compared to 400. It's complete and in decent condition, a few cabinet boo-boos but restorable. When I got there she let me have it for $40! It has the back, my other one doesn't so I would have paid $40 for that alone. She said it had a raster as recently as two years ago but they didn't plug it in this time. |
Havent seen anything that cool on CL around here.....

...and a great Set. Mine is amongst my best performing TVs.

Very nice Lee, makes me want to get one going, Philcs's are usually pretty good performers but their chassis are very crowded.
I tested the CRT, stone dead at first but a little bit at 8 volts and it literally jumped up to good, went back down at 6.3 but after a few cycles between 6.3 and 8.0 and it suddenly took off, now it checks solidly in the good zone at 6.3! Probably not the very best tube in the world but it should work fine after it gets a little use. |
Nice. I think I saw one of these at the ETV and thought about bidding on. Very nice looking TV.
