Houston Fearless TV-Camera stand-question

Hi!

I have an offer to buy an old TV-camera stand on wheels.
It seems to be from the 50s/early 60s.:thmbsp:
The color is brown and it looks 3-hooked from the top.
But it cost over 2000 Euro!:nono::no:
I need a stand for a german 1959/60 Fernseh GmbH camera.:scratch2:
How`s about the availability of these stands in the US and how much they cost?:screwy:

Thanks in advance!

The TV-Collector:stupid:

By Houston Fearless "stand", I assume you mean a camera pedestal? Houston Fearless made camera pedestals and tripods. The pedestals I've seen are generally mechanical, not hydraulic or pneumatic.

Generally, they were given away by the commercial broadcasters years ago to colleges and institutions. They are so big an heavy, they often appear abandoned in dark corners.

Salvage companies may have them and the price I see has been comparable to the one you listed.

I was thinking, if I ever won a million dollar jackpot I would buy one of these, drive to TN, and deposit it in Uncle Sandy's driveway, just to see what he would say....
