keystone royal 8?
 

so today i went back to the thrift shop where i got the old projector and got the other 2 they had. one is a revere slide projector from the 1950s but the other one is a absolutly beautiful large model by keystone film company, its called the keystone deluxe 8, im guessing its probubly early 1940s ish? i paid $5 for both of them. its in next to new condition, and even has all the little accesories with it, including what looks like a film splicer, a bottle of film glue and a few other wierd little tools for this and that that i have no idea what they do. both projectors work perfect! i plugged them in and they fired right up, spin make all kinds of noise and get super hot. the keystone 8 im guessing is a 8mm model. i have a spool of 8mm tape but i have no idea how to thread it. it even has a neat little pilot light on the base that stays on all the time, even when off that lights up the projector in a soft gold glow, and is really cool looking in the dark. anyone have any info on it? one thing i noticed that i didnt like so much is when the motor is spinning fast i see a blue arc of electric inside it, is this normal? anyways, here are some pics..

That Keystone was actually one of their top-tier models in that line. It should be a nice player after a mechanical and filmpath lube. No idea on the sparking motor, though. It is probably one of the few old pedestal-style projectors that I would trust running films on. The old Kodak nitrocellulose glue is no longer any good, so don't try to splice any films with it.
