i am going to pick up a rca console.tube.rectangular.it has the long power switch at the top that always breaks.any idea as to the chassis number and year of manufacture?

One of those sets I worked on, that had that style switch was a CTC40. That set is well worth picking up, as it's RCA's first solid state chassis. IT could be a CTC44 or 46 as well.

If your sure it's a tube set, it's probably a CTC39 from around '71. However, that switch was more commonly used on the CTC40, 44, and 46. The 46 was the first upright modular chassis.

yes,its tube set.ctc 39 sounds right.they texted a picture and it has a ful floor cabinet,replaced crt and the tuner rebuilt back in the 80s.no high voltage.thanks for info
