Go for it Sandy, it's a cutey, if I found it local I'd probably feel compelled to get it.

The style of nomenclature-Typeface, etc, makes me think its a VERY early set.

Really nice set! Portables Panasonic set from late 60's - early 70's are really cuties, I have a CT-28 and I'm very satisfied!

One time I bought a b/w Panasonic 12" with instant-on...looked similar. It was built 1973.

Sold that set in 2009 for 15$....people seem to like these.

Well, I got it. $46, + $19 for shipping. Not too bad for a set of a type I never saw before. Hope none of y'all were biddin' on it, too. Don't y'all tell my wife-She's on an "austerity" kick right now...(grin)

Great snag, Sandy G! You're correct about it being a bit of an oddball type...This makes it desirable though! Would be quite cool to see a photo of it while turned on.

Well, got this puppy in. Works, controls badly need Deoxing, but no major problems. Cosmetically, nothing that a bunch of rags, some Windex & a little elbow grease can't cure. Biggest prize was the 2 Panasonic "Complete Product Line" brochures-At the time, circa 1969-70, I'd assume, they made/sold appliances-Fondue cookers, steamers, can openers, coffee makers, pencil sharpeners, office desk lamps, vacuum cleaners...

I've run across two 1980's panasonic's recently, probably 9" sets, both had plastic woodgrain cabinets, one had knobs the other had electronic tuning but otherwise identical. The knob model had a 1983 date on it, I didn't check the other one but suspect the same or similar.
They were clearly direct descendents of this set.

They were too new to be interesting so I left them.

Niffty...Had one similar(no woodgrain) many years ago,my brother dropped it down the stairs (accidentally,I think...) Made the trip from the top of the stairs to the bottom with barley a mark,except for a broken crt:thumbsdn:

This l'il guy has a sturdy metal cabinet, covered w/a woodgrain vinyl. Despite the connotation, its really well done, & NOT objectionable in the least. They really did make things a bit "better" back then...Now, however, a metal case costs FAR too much...This guy was $299.95 40 some odd years ago, according to a price written under its description in one of the pamphlets, a healthy sum then.

299.95 is not chump change even now!

It is amazingly close in dimensions* to my early 70s S0ny KV-9000 (below), but I like the style of the Panasonic better... the S0ny is cluttered with too many different cross sections!
