Why is it called a "coaxial"?

Because the Speaker is Co-Axial, it's also quite large, like 20"x9" or something like that.

I saw that big ol' speaker in there. I wondered what it looked like from the front. Anybody got a pic of one? (sorry if this is a slow thread-jack, it is slightly on-topic, hehe)

Well, on US Hwy 1 in Jensen Beach, Florida, there is a plant nursery, still in business, that had a set similar to that, it had the telephone dial looking channel selector, that gigantic oval speaker, and a traditional base instead of the legs. It was in the office several years ago, like maybe 30. I think of it every time I pass the place, and sometimes tempted to stop and see if it's still there. I think I told the story of the Danish set with the twin coaxials, complete one day, and the next time, gutted to the gills. I hope the new owner of the ebay set loves it as much as I would.

There was one of these in a thrift store not to long ago.
The speaker is massive in these!

There is also another model in a Danish modern cabinet whose design is attributed to Finn Juhl.
It has an oval shaped top.
Had it been that model I would have bought it.

Arent these sets from 1959 or 1960?
