Help with a Sanyo DS25030
I'm unable to view channels 48-95 in CATV mode and in "Normal" mode, I am unable to view anything clearly after 13...
I thought this would be a good place to find help on old tv's... |
It's been a long time; but, I believe there is a 39 Kohm resistor that is in the B+ line to the tuner. If this resistor increases in value or opens, the tuner will not operate properly.
Or, the tuner itself could be bad. Parts places like www.matelectronics.com usually have these tuners at a reasonable price. Another option would be to use the tuner from a DTV converter, CATV converter, or VCR. Just leave the TV on channel 3 and use the tuner in your VCR or converter box to change channels. |

Has your cable system gone all digital and is handing out converter boxes? You might find some in-the-clear cable channels down low at best but nothing up high in the CATV mode. Normal mode will not see CATV signals and your cable system may have a few channels 2-13...but not for long.

Several weeks ago, our local company dropped all channels above 12 from the analog package. The only thing on analog is 2-12 and anything higher than 12 requires a digital transport adapter or one of the large full featured digital cable boxes.

right now, i think only comcast is doing that transport crap as they are the ones that were granted that from the FCC
