Curtis Mathes Single wide
Boy, you were not kidding!!! That 23 or 25 inch screen is dwarfed by that aircraft carrier or did they just put a CRT on the old CM manufacturing plant?
That is the widest console I've ever seen. Now all you need in one of those CM radios on the tall skinny legs.
Is it just me or does it look like the cabinet is sagging in the middle???
I would be! (sagging, that is)
Reminds me of a long-ago fishing trip, had my trusty Arvin radio on the boat with me and they played Charley Pride, "I'm gonna love her on the radio". My Dad's fishing buddy, Bill Jones, thought that was really funny, and had his own verses, which I can't repeat here. He was imagining a set like this... |
I don't think it is sagging in the middle, although by rights, it should be...wow that thing is big.
It looks like the tv portion pops forward just a bit more than the rest of the set. Kind of like the old RCA roundies that were built up in the center. |
I wonder what kind of speakers that thing has! You could probably fit 4x 12" woofers in there!
Gee, "local pickup only"? That thing won't fit in a pick up!
Wow!! That thing is missing the caboose

moved one of those beasts once.the key word here is once!never saw another one and dont want to see one.during my young years,i ,as a rather short man,had something to prove.i carried this monster while my large neighbor was on the other side.he kept saying how light it was.then we had to put it down twice while he caught his breath.i have powerlifted for years but i never want to carry another combo again.at my advanced age,i will let the younger guys lift these.i will watch and critique!
I have a B&W C-M combo from the early 60's it's dense particle board with real veneer over it and it's so heavy that it about killed me the last time I had to lift it, that was 8 years ago, it'll probably stay with the house if I move.

Strap this Dumont on and double your fun. Kitchen sink used to be in the cutout above the tuner. Cinder blocks extra.

another off by a factor of 10 at least. Oh well...
That CM lacks taste in good styling on top of it. For such a monster of a set, one would think there would be a little more impressive looking control panel under the hood.
