Value of TEAC 4010S deck?
I hate when people ask these questions about radios & TVs, but I honestly have no idea what my TEAC 4010S tape deck is worth. Nice condition, works as far as I can make out, has original manual. Something I picked up years ago and never used as I had imagined.
I suspect the value is slight and it weighs a ton, so my plan is to list on the local craiglist. Regards, Phil Nelson |
All depends on operating condition and physical condition of the heads. If the set works properly and has good heads with no wear gap then I suspect you could get anything from 60-$120. I've seen minty ones sell for as high as 200.

Thanks, I'll list for $50 OBO and try to get a nibble.

Admirable machine. Mine was pre-S, playback almost indistinguishable from input. These were simplified Ampex 350s.
The S stood for silicon, the pre-S was germanium, inrunner motors much faster wind than the outrunners in S. Scary fast. No idea what they're 'worth', kinda wish I had mine back, it was flatter than my Technics 1500 15ips half track. |
