In relation to this topic thought I will mention that I've uploaded a short video on the AMPEX Videotape Cruiser while back dating 1959 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6XlYLA_6CY there's snippets of B&W video footage of Hoover Dam and of the AMPEX VTR.
