I was considering parting this set for the crt for my GE, but I figured, why not plug it in and see what it does first. And it just works - That pic was taken right when I first powered it up. So I'm definitely not parting it out. Probably do the usual recap, cabinet needs some glue cleaned off, fine tuning not working, vol knob missing, yoke cover disintegrating. But I'm really surprised it works this good, it's rare to find a set older than the mid-60s that'll just power up and work.

Actually, now that I look at it the deflection angle is different, I probably couldn't have swapped the CRT into the GE anyway.

It is also rare to find one of those sets with the handle intact!

The CRT is different in that set.
I have one that works on original parts but has a bad CRT.
Good set, better than the GE IMO, transformer powered chassis I think.

I recapped, put it back together to make sure it still worked. Now I still need to fix the fine tuning shaft, and the aquadag coating nearly all flaked off the crt. I decided to repaint the cabinet, there were a number of small dents I wanted to take out.

Darn nice work! I'd like to find one to compliment my little 8 inch personal sets.

Nice job on the set, I do believe that is the same model that I have and wants to start restoring. Do you have the list of caps and possibly the order sheat that I could see?

One of those was my very first TV project. Candy apple red with gold trim, and a nice perfomer. My wife was annoyed when I sold it!

I'd avoid lifting it by the handle. Almost all of them are busted. Mine was completely missing.

That's good advice for nearly any vintage piece of equipment.

I repaired the fine tuning shaft. (See before and after pics to see how much was missing from it) Currently doing some bodywork on the cabinet. Seeing I'm going to be repainting it anyway, did any of these ever come with a 2-tone paint job?
