Feet on the GE 806 TV?
The 806 I picked up a couple weeks ago is missing it's feet.
I found a picture on the Web but it lacks detail, it looks like they are just four wooden blocks about a half inch high. I can see where they were and how long and wide they are but I don't know exactly what they looked like or how tall they should be. Does anyone have one of these sets that they could take some detailed pictures of the feet for me? Do they have any taper or are they just rectangular blocks, what color are they? Thanks! |

That's my set. I'll dig it out and take a look at the feet later today.

They are about 3/4" high with a slight taper. Light reddish brown in color.
Here are some pictures. http://www.bobandersen.com/images/GE%20806/feet/034.jpg http://www.bobandersen.com/images/GE%20806/feet/035.jpg http://www.bobandersen.com/images/GE%20806/feet/036.jpg |
Thank you Bob! That's just what I needed to see.
Those shouldn't be too hard to fabricate. Something my set has and yours doesn't (and I don't think it's supposed to) is two wooden strips about 1/2" high and 3/4" wide glued across the bottom side to side but about 2 inches shorter on each side than the cabinet, this is what my set is sitting on. I thought they looked suspect, someone must have put them there to replace the missing feet. |

Why not install 4 pneumatic chisels instead? :screwy:

Why did they put the tube diagram on the bottom of these? It looks like there was plenty of space on the inside for it. Putting it on the bottom seems like it could only be meant to make it harder for the user to find and easier for it to get wet, torn, or generally damaged.

Good question. I didn't even realize it was down there until I took this picture.

I have used stick-on felt pads, maybe 3/16" thick, in various shapes, that would be good on those wooden feet. Some are round, square, rectangular. Mine came from Lowe's. Not much a fan of stick-on but on a smooth clean sealed surface they do stick tightly.
