About 25 years ago I visited one of the NYC TV stations (WABC, or WNBC or WCBS, forgot which it was) and they had small rooms where news editors could edit their tapes, and they used Sony monitors similar to this.

Cool projector! I seriouly think it may be just a wee bit overpriced, but thats in the eye of the beholder I guess. I have seen that 1200U monitor somewhere before online. I have the KV-1200U TV version of that set. Works wonderfully.

I hadn't noticed the price on the projector, I think it's probably something you would have to pay most people to take but who knows, it has to be fairly rare.

That first Sony Trinitron must have been state-of-the-art for its time with all those plug-ins in the back. You don't see many sets from 1971 looking like that. Also, very decent picture quality. I did notice only 10 VHF channels though. Is that usual?

The KP-4000 is Sony's second big screen; 1974-5. I had one, and it's built like a tank. It has a fine-pitch 12" tube, and actually make a fairly good (but DIM) picture. Rare, YES. I've only ever seen a couple of them. Value? We'll see, but I wouldn't bid on it at that price, if it were next door. But I won't ridicule anyone if they do... Just means they want it more than I do.

That set also uses the BANG-KLUNK remote tuner. In stead of a motor-driven rotary tuner, it has a big solenoid like a car starter, which rams a piston out against a cam, and knocks the tuner to the next channel.
