Sencore Super Mack CR31A Manual

Does anyone have or know where I can get a manual for a Sencore Super Mack CR31A? I have the tube data book that came with it; just need the ops manual.

Thanks!

I think you can still get a copy of the manual from Sencore. I got one for my CR70 from them.

Ebay is probably a less expensive option. The manual doesn't fit well in the unit so I think they tend to get separated from the unit when they're sold.

I have one for my super mack. Is there anything specific you want to know? I have tested 100s of tubes with mine and know it very well.

John - I did call them and they do not have them anymore... nice folks, but no older manuals.

CTC - thanks for the offer. I've used quite a few different CRT testers/rejuvinators and understand the basics. I wanted to test a 10BP4 and am using socket 1.

- I set the filament voltage (6.3) and bias to "C".
- Gun balance set to R/B&W
- I set the FIL SET to align with 6.3
- Run through H-K Shorts and G Shorts (no meter movement)
- Select GUN BAL and attempt to adjust to mark on meter - I get no movement of meter
- I select EMISSION and get almost no deflection - but can get movement if I changes the GUN BAL control

And general questions:

- What does Automatic tracking do in Tester mode?
- If the tube does not have shorts and is low on emissions, do I start with Auto Cycle in Restore or Rejuv first?

Thanks!

Automatic tracking is for testing color CRTs. It stores the emissions on capacitors for each gun and comes up with a good or bad indication for tracking by comparing those at the end.

This is from memory so I might have it a little off.

I'm still trying to figure out where the heck I put my Super Mack manual, otherwise I'd copy it for you.

Thanks John - if you run across it! Much appreciated. If you do that, I will host it somewhere so others have access in the future.

After looking for the 20th time in the spot where I was sure I put it, it finally reappeared. There are 40+ pages. I'll try to scan it tomorrow.

Greetings,

I'm new to the vintage TV restoration world, although I've been restoring radios for decades. I'm at the point where I need a CRT tester. I have the opportunity to buy a CR-31A in excellent condition with all adapters, probes and manual for $50. Is this a good price? Any caveats with this model?

Thanks,

Clark
