The glass inside the lid Philco 48-2500?
 

I believe there's supposed to be a piece of glass inside the lid area, opposite the speaker on this Philco projection set.

Does anyone know how thick it's supposed to be? (looks like 1/16"?) is it just regular glass?

I need to get one cut for my set but want to make sure I get it right.

It's about 3/16 or 1/4 inch thick. I can measure it more exactly if that would be helpful.

I think it is just regular glass. Since these sets tend to run short of brightness, it would be helpful if it had antireflective coating (to minimize light loss through the window), but the original certainly did not.

The thickness of the original glass in mine is 0.113", which you could round off to 1/8" and no one would notice.

P.S.: Do you happen to have an extra front cabinet pull in your stash of 48-2500 parts? That's one piece that I have not yet managed to get. Mine has the "asymmetric" look for now...

As for the pull I think I might, I know I saved the control door and it probably has the handle on it.
As soon as I can find it I'll let you know.

Well that was easy.

It's dirty but I think they are solid Brass so it should clean up like new.
