Some Recent Console Finds

I haven't had time to go through them yet - they went straight into storage; but all worked before I loaded them.

A cute modern '66 RCA Victor B&W consolette, model CG225W, KCS-136 chassis:

'68 Sylvania color set, model CF504W, D08 chassis:

'69 Sylvania color remote set, NOS, model CF525CHR, D12 chassis:

Rare '69 Emerson color set, model 26C38, one of the last built by Emerson. In Feb. 1970 Emerson (National Union) stopped making its own sets and turned production of Emerson and Dumont sets to Admiral. N.U. canceled that agreement in Dec. 1972. This chassis was also used in sets branded Ambassador and Montclair according to the Sams (sorry for the blurry pic):

Sets dont come much nicer than that RCA. KCS136 chassis was a great performer. That cheap and nasty Emerson was a real marginal performer. Series string, two stage IF, odd expensive tubes. I dont think too many of them survived.

I have a RCA just like that. Mine is missing the knobs, however.:tears:

Wow, some nice, nice stuff! I really like those Sylvanias-I had one years ago from that era and it had a great picture. And I like that RCA, too.

The Emerson, for its rarity, is a keeper. I have a DuMont that age, parallel circuit. Surprisingly good.

Yeah, I had to save the RCA - it's a real slick looking set. I'd never seen an Emerson - I remember Consumer Reports always had them rated low on the list, but it was either me or the scrapper. I hope to have these out of storage in a couple of months so I can take some better pics and enjoy them of course.
