ATTN: The Desirable 1972 Zenith Hybrid on Ebay Has Reduced in Price

It's now $199.00. That's still pretty expensive, but at least it's better than what it was before.

Take a look. I won't get it even though I live only about an hour away. It has a great picture, but I currently don't have much money to spend on another set that's any more than $50 no matter how good of condition it is in.

I'm sure it's still expensive for many of you as well, so try sending him an email and do some negotiating. If he lowered it $50, I'm sure he'll lower it more.

I'll keep you all posted if it drops any more soon.

By the way, I wonder why the seller wants to get rid of it. It actually kind of fits with his older-style 1970's home decor.

Pfft, $199? Desireable? Come get the one out of my apartment for a Jackson or two man, I need it gone!

If he lowered it TO $50 then maybe he'd sell it.

$199 for a 1970s TV? You have got to be kidding me? That guy selling it must think there are some real suckers out there. That TV is worth no more than ten bucks. MAYBE I would pay that much for a 1950s color set.

If I had some extra cash, I MIGHT go $50 on this set if it worked well and was in otherwise good physical condition. Those Zenith hybrid sets were nice and probably produced the best picture of any tube color set. Zenith made a ton of these 4 tube hybrid sets between '70-'75 and they can still be found if one looks hard enough. The prices usually range between free and $10 from non-collectors.

Yeah. I didn't expect anyone to be all that thrilled by the price reduction. I just thought by posting it here that there'd be SOMEONE who was willing to pay that much.

But as I mentioned before, I'm sure he'll lower it again, especially if he's trying to get rid of it. It's a nice set, but I agree. It's definitely not worth what he's selling it for.

I had one of those sets, and the picture was well above other sets of that time and beyond! (oooooo how sci-fi sounding)
