18 TV's one auction $975
 

A bit high maybe since most of them are pretty common, however there is a Sentinel TV400, a seldom seen Sylvania and Motorola Portable, and a nice clean looking Raymond Lowey designed Westinghouse portable in there.

Some sets I'd like to have individually but nothing that would compel me to buy the whole lot at that price.

I could see someone paying $200 or $300 for the lot, but not $975. Don't hold your breath waiting for this lot to sell at that price...

I suspect that if he listed them individually, he might come close to the desired bid, figuring $150-200 for the Sentinal and averaging about $50 ea for the portables. My guess would be that the 9" GEs, 8" RCAs, Sylvania, Westinghouse and perhaps the Zeniths might go for more than $50 ea. Is that a blue/cream colored Motorola in the center of the 7th pix?:eek:...$100 perhaps?

These brightly colored 50s portables seem to do pretty well on eBay mostly because they are cute and easy to ship. by lumping them all together, the shipping advantage is lost. :no:

Can anybody identify the round-CRT set in the background? The crt bezel treatment looks like my 16" Philco... but the 3 center knob layout does not look like Philco practice. It also appears that there may be a swing down speaker panel, perhaps a radio/phono combo? :scratch2:

I always use ebay store front and list items at a high price with the make an offer option.
Doing it this way gives him the option to take offers and get an idea what the value is. Its almost like reverse bidding, start high and let them work you down.

There really is no 'blue book' or baseline for vintage tvs.

Who knows, he may be willing to take a $350 offer but just put it out there to see what kind of offers he would get.
