Found a Minty Sony KV-1217
3 Attachment(s)
Except for the missing trim over the speaker this set would be nearly like new, even the orange tips on the antenna are perfect.
CRT seems very strong though the tracking is off a bit as well as the convergence. It seems to be too bright, perhaps someone have been messing around though I doubt it. Even with the brightness all the way off it still has a bright picture, the Picture control will bring it down but I don't think it's quite right. I paid $6.98 for this set, I figured it was worth it if only for parts. Here's some lousy pictures: |
Kewl score !

Nice score Eric, im sure compionent drift is the cause of convergence. Try the H stat off the flyback.

That's a great little set, I've had mine for about 8 years now and never a problem with it. I used to use it by my bed years ago to watch analog tv late at night.......ahhhh, the good 'ol days.

Nice set! I don't think I've ever had the 12" version of this set; but, I've had several 19" versions and many of them were missing the speaker grille. I guess the glue that was used would break down over time and the grille would fall off.

Yep, mine fell off shortly after I got it. I was lucky it waited until then. A little Aileen's Tacky glue spread on with a light coat glues it perfectly if you ever find the grille.

A wood-cabinet 12" color TV. Those were (and are) very nice sets.

Im curious, was Sony still using the 330AB22 at this time, considering it is stilla 12" set?
|
Nice set! Just a little worried about your "too bright?" comment... I'd check the G1 and G2 voltages, as there are caps which leak on those, running up the voltages and wrecking the tube. I don't have the manual on that set with the procedure and specs, but any 1977-up 12" Sony manual would work for that purpose.
