Zenith Porthole on eBay PA
|
and it's gone :D I like that style - clean lines, basketweave and chrome.

I grew up just a few miles from West Middlesex, PA. Somehow it seems very appropriate to find a set like this in that town.

I picked up a nice 10" tabletop version of that set day before yesterday.
Looks to be a very interesting chassis. |
Bought It
I hope the set works as described. I bought it yesterday. The owner said he can get "static" or snow on the screen but he does not know the model #. it looks like the set is complete, meaning no missing knobs, etc. The cabinet will definitely be refinished. I look forward to refurbishing this one.

I had one of those, very sturdy little set. Top & sides are 3/4" thick!
If I remember correctly, the model was 28T960EU "Waldorf". Came with the aluminized 12KP4. Veneer is African Afara. Good performer. |

I like that TV. You did good. BTW, just curious -- are you having it shipped to you or are you going to pick it up? I always wondered how they fared being shipped, but hey they were shipped when they were new. Carl |
No Shipping
I will be picking this one up. I just purchased a 16" zenith porthole console with radio and phonograph on ebay. Its on the eastern side of pa. so I will be doing alot of driving. Ever since I joined videokarma to get info for my 1952 Philco I have really become interested in these old tv sets. To me, each one is a piece of history. Young people that see one of these old tv's can't believe you had to get off of the sofa to change channels. Times have sure changed.
