Road trip to Pittsburgh?
Someone from Sweden posted this over on the A.R.F.
http://picasaweb.google.com/ragooman...ittsburgh2010# A few decent sets in there, a roundie and a couple Westinghouses, also a Dumont. Hard to tell what condition they are in. |
Odd porthole in the lot.

"These are photos of Vintage TV's that we are trying to rescue. If you are interested in any of these, feel free to contact me. The office building where these are stored is being cleaned out - everything is being trashed, what is not rescued is going in the dumpster. This place is located in a borough of Pittsburgh,PA. There will be more photos coming."
Don't know howmany people on this forum are from southwestern Pennsylvania, but if anybody here needs help I'm game. (about 20 miles south of town) |

I'd be interested in the Westinghouse on the left, 3rd row down, if it could be shipped to Michigan or relayed to Chardon, Ohio near Cleveland. John |
I live near Pittsburgh Int'l Airport. I wish I had the money and space to save these guys. McKees Rocks ("The Rocks") is just west of Pittsburgh, my father lives near there and I worked near there once.

Hmmm...a few nice sets...Ragooman says 'contact me' but never gives an email address that I can see!
My last big trip to Pitts was about 15 years ago to buy a shit-load of old TVs..the guy said there were nearly 100 in an old movie theater that was being knocked down. I drove the 12 hour round trip, to find the roof had collapsed on the theater 5 or 10 years earlier, and every set, chassis and part had sat under rain water for all that time...'But I thought you could use some picture tube or parts or something...' That was before digital photos made it easy to spot morons! |
