Sams or Rider for Admiral 17T12?
1 Attachment(s)
I'm approaching an unsuccessful conclusion to my first restoration attempt, a Motorola 12T2, and I'll soon start on the Admiral 17T12. I checked the Sams site, but found no Photofacts for the 17T12, and I don't know where to look for the Rider service info.
So, can someone help me find out what technical information might be available for an Admiral 17T12, chassis 17T1? |
It's covered in the Wallace Telaide for Admiral 1947-1951. Give me a day or two and I'll try to scan it. Those big ledger sized pages are such a pain!
It's pretty darn close to the 19A11 too. |
Thanks
Telaide is new to me. Being new to the field, I'm constantly amazed at the resources which are available. I do have a copy of Sams for the 19T11, but I haven't even taken the chassis out of the cabinet for comparison yet. Thanks.

I've got the 17T12 too and used the Sam's for the 19T11. Almost the same as Bob sez. Only a few small differences. As I remember it's in the agc circuit. No biggy

Anyone who makes high resolution scans of pre-1965 sets, please send them to us so they will be available to other collectors. We have started posting them on our site:

I uploaded hi-res scans of the service notes and schematic here: http://www.bobandersen.com/images/sc.../admiral/17T1/
I'll scan the capacitor reference and alignment procedure tonight or tomorrow. |
Tnx! Bob

Thanks, Bob
I've downloaded your Admiral 12T1 Wallace posts. They're superb. I'll be able to start looking for the routine component replacements before I even take the back off of the set.

You're welcome. Steve converted them into a very nice PDF here: http://www.earlytelevision.org/image...1_telaides.pdf
