I guess this is a 630 chassis, but I have never seen this model. I don't have any room for another big console.

Uff da! Lots of tonnage for a picture that size.

Does the screen swivel to point toward one side or the other, as well as slide out? Unusual design, anyhow, and it looks like the cabinet's in beautiful shape.

Wonder if there's a phono turntable in the lower left . . . .

Morgan McMahons "A Flick of the Switch" (page 80) shows the set with the CRT swiveled to the left, and says that it is "AM-FM-TV-Phono"...so I would guess that the phono is indeed, left of the Radio/control panel.

Since the cabinet does not appear to be super deep, I wonder if the CRT must be swiveled 90 degrees to its normal viewing position so that the front doors can be closed?
Also, where *are* the front doors when the TV is positioned for viewing? Perhaps the "door" panel shown is actually the side of the rotated CRT display housing.:scratch2:

Someone should grab this set. They are very rare.

The set is an unusual design, built by Crosley, not a 630. It uses plug in RF units, customized for the channels in your area. The CRT housing tilts 90 degrees when recessed:

Wow! I must be missing something here... If the back of the CRT tilts down, won't it hit the tuner and/or phonograph? Or by "tilts" do you mean "rotates" ?

It rotates, not tilts.

The turntable is 78 only--if it's original.

That is a tribute to real furniture type construction.
Even though it is only a 10" inch screen I would love to have on in a room in my house. And make sure I never move it as I am sure it weighs a ton.

What are those big black can things on the bottom chassis?

I believe that those are the "picture pilots" ... the plug-in cans containing the tuned circuits for the tuner. See the manual link posted by Steve McVoy (above in post # 6 ). Very strange tuner, it appears that a long flex shaft is used to reach from the switch to the front panel of the set.
