Philco Combo @ Estate Sale

You know how we all prefer going to the houses that haven't been remodeled? Well the other side to that is the house that hasn't been cleaned since Jimmy Carter told us all not to vacuum and thus save electricity.

This was one of those houses. It was a total disaster. The TV was a Philco combo. It was a tube set, but certainly from the end of the era. Somebody (likely the owner) had long ago removed the back and I was able to peek inside... Otherwise I would have said "solid state". Cabinet wasn't the greatest shape, and it looked like it had seen a million hours of use.

I didn't have the energy to remove all the sh*t piled on top to look inside.

Pass.

Looks like my place! :D Especially after I unpacked about a hundred moving boxes and now have semi-sorted piles of power cords, coax cables, tubes and what-not all over the place. No, I'm not married, big surprise there... :D

Several years ago, someone brought me the solid state version of this for repair. While they were unloading it, they knocked off the neck of the CRT. Needless to say, it didn't get fixed and they took it back with them. Said they'd use it for the stereo. That thing was a real back breaker. Believe it or not, I've been in many houses that were just as junked up. I hate to admit it; but, my shop is starting to look that bad.
