This is a nice console
http://topeka.craigslist.org/clt/1562737236.html
I have the Stereo (not the TV version), very nice tuner/amp combo, nice speakers, and easy to work on TV chassis. The tuner was the TOTL for magnavox, as was the MPX and PP EL84 amp. the TV is easy to work on (vert chassis, transformer power supply) guessin its a 24" crt B&W). I think the TV is the same as my astrosonic equiped one. If anyone is near it I would recommend getting it, before it ends up in some tube amp hack junkies scrap heap. |
Wow, I wasn't expecting such a nice looking cabinet. This one does need to be saved.

I second that, I even scrapped a console for one of those amps once. Not a tv one though.:D I have yet to make a nice stand alone out of it, it has a tube pre-amp too. One of these rainy days I'll do something with it.

yea thats why I hope a video nut gets it, I would hate to see such a fine example get gutted. |
I have really been enjoying my B&W sets lately, most for leave it to beaver and Mike hammer and lots of stuff on RTV. My goal is to use the B&W for B&W programing, and color for color. A some point I hope to refine it to the correct vintage programing to the correct vintage sets, old 40's movies on old 40's sets, etc...

well you can start with all the Johnny Weismuller Tarzans series 30-40's
Phillip Marlowe, anything with Bogie in it, Spanky and our gang, Old Cartoons like Tom and Jerry, Anything with Cary Grant, Kate Hepborn (sp sorry)/ Tracey, Jame Cagney, Tons of good stuff on TCM, The 40's are like watching shows from another planet, but fun. Sargent york, the fountain head, high noon Gary Cooper. for Color: Gone with the wind Wizard of OZ Robbin hood I am also a Hitch fan but that is a little later for more well know stuff But I always make time for the fountian head with coop. The only thing I have a tough time with is Musicals, sometimes I like them if the have Gene Kelly in them or Julie Andrews (sound of music is great) |
Thanks for the suggestions:yes: I'll check those out, I have a lot of Tom and Jerry already so I'm off to a good start.
I'm with you on the musicals, I can't stand most of them and a lot of 40's movies were of that type. |
