Console TVs from the future: in Star Trek
 

In the pilot episode of Star Trek, they show that the captain has a console TV set in his cabin.

Not much detail visible here, as they used strange lighting in this picture.

Even in the future, you still have power cords on the floor... :D

The future was so much better in the past...


It would have been cool if they actually made those communicators into little radios or something, but they don't look like they do anything to me. (I don't see a single capacitor (variable or otherwise) anywhere in there, and there seem to be no wires at all going to that switch.

Our tiny brains can't grasp its advanced design, which has been freed of mundane constraints such as a power supply or visible connections between components.

A sufficiently advanced science will appear as magic to the uninitiated!
