1969 Zenith color TV in MA
 

Hopefully someone can save this. I always liked this control layout and never had a nice example of this style. Pretty sure its a '69 but nothing newer than a '71. A realistic seller for a change too! The way it should be!

Thats the same model dad bought when I was young, that would be in 1968, does anybody know the model # ? it finally died in 1990, a buzz a humm bang and a living room full of instant darkness and smoke massive powersupply and cap failure. R.I.P. old friend.:tears::tears:

Sounds like this TV is mint. The seller got back to me, its got a 20BC50 chassis, model C2983. According to the seller, some lady wants it but can't get it for a few days. God no, Im sure that means she wants to gut it and make it into some type of fish tank or some other awful thing. I really want that one. It might seem common as heck to most of you, but its one I NEVER see around here and I always liked those. The probablity of a woman TV collector is about 1 in a billion too, so its best I get it!

Nice set. So, Edison, that set was in daily use from '68-'90? Pretty impressive. Those are some REAL good Crt's.

Im going to Michigan to see my mom next week.. It's too bad I cannnot rent a truck and go get this puppy.. Wonder howe I would explain it being carry on luggage..

I have one of these already awaiting a yoke transplant... Im sure you guys remember my famious 5 or so page thread on diagnosing this bad boy.. And yes this is a 1970 model. 3 or so transistors in this chassis.

those are some awesome sets.almost bulletproof and the crts are unreal.if it were closer i would be all over this one.

You got it, they bought it to watch The Welk Show, the special from Hawaii, and the moon landing. I can still see those fantastic colors. the set was on from 5am every morning untill 11-12 at night, I can still remember the CBS orange eye, the national anthem and the announcer saying "this is station WCBS New York, Good Night" yep it was built like a tank, after that bad day when it died, I salvaged the tubes, I still have them in a box, for what ever reason, I cant bring myself to use them, kinda like a small memorial I guess. I would to have one again...
