I am guessing a lot of solid state, and check out the slide controls.

It's definitely a works in a drawer set, looks to be about a '70, could be a '69. There's much better first vintage color sets but, if the price and location are right, it's not exactly a bad first color set either. When working correctly, they're nice. I've seen a nice picture on one. I like this one and would have it myself.

Yikes what? That thing is cool.

I've seen people on this forum guide a blind 6-year-old with a speech impediment through the rebuild of a smuggled, Russian color set that used a 4-gun tube (yellow phosphor). I think people on here could help you fix that set.

...and if not, it would make a nice aquarium.

That is one wonderful entertainment center.

I've got a couple loaded (mostly) drawers for one of these. They can't stay in my shed forever...

That could be the extremely rare first all-transistor Motorola. I'd look into it! Motorola was, as far as I have read, the first to bring an all-transistor color console onto the market (even before the RCA CTC-40). I know very little about it, as I've only ever seen two of them, and never repared one.

Thats a great set. I really like those works in a drawer models. I always enjoyed working on those, they are easy to fix and keep going. I think the first one was in 1967? I've got a '70 model. Only issues I had with mine was intermittent picture flashing and strange color sync issues. I recapped ALL of the modules as they used those horrid "ero" caps which are nothing but trouble (they are the worst caps, always leaky). After that repair, the set is perfect. That one looks mint, it probably even has all the service literatrue stapled inside the cabinet still.

If I recall, the chassis number of the first Motorola all-xistor set is TS-918. If that is what you have, you do have a historic tv. Could be a bear to restore, though.

nothing wrong with transistor sets - just look at how successful the zenith chromacolor series was!

If it works, at least you may have an easy restoration. If it doesn't, you'll have some troubleshooting to do - however at that price you might want to think twice if this is your first set.
