1967 Admiral remote set

2 Attachment(s)
Found at an Estate sale today. Was still hooked up to the antenna and plugged in. (still works). Also has the remote in the plastic holder on the back and all paperwork!
This is the second Admiral Sonar remote set I have found since 2007, what I find interesting about this one, is that I repaired it in June 1987! My shop sticker is still on the inside (I used to put my repair stickers on the bell of the crt) with my initials and date.

Wow that is cool to find a set you worked on!

Wow!! That is a beautiful set! Admiral's really have a nice look to them! That is really cool you found the very same set you worked on too!

I have a '66 Admiral with the same chassis sans remote. I like your cabinet better though. Mine has a strong picture tube and pretty accurate color.

Best of luck with it. :tresbon:

Thats got to be one of the finds of the year. An admiral color remote set, mint condition, working and one you serviced. Thats a very special set in many ways.

It's interesting to me that the set still works on an antenna. I did not see a converter box anywhere, although there may be one atop the cabinet (the thumbnail is very dark).

I can get channel 9 CBC Canada here plus a few UHF as well. I am happy the Canadians are keeping analog for a couple more years!

That's a great looking set.

How about a screen cap? Is there any cool light up stuff?

zenithfan1 09-16-2009 08:42 AM

That is really cool that you worked on it 22 years ago, that's a keeper for sure! Nice looker too. I shouldn't have gotten rid of the one I had, Oh well, spilled milk I know....

Wow, nice set, lots of real estate in that cabinet, ought to keep it running cooler. Bet those two 6 x 9" 's sound great.
