Sounds like someone needs to give Polo a call and make him wake up to reality.

Dave1384 07-03-2009 09:38 PM

His name is Polo and he has a sense of humor.

I think that same guy asked questions on ARF concerning the value of that set. I don't think he wanted to hear what they had to say.

Arkay 07-03-2009 10:15 PM

At least he starts out with a statement that is more realistic and appropriate (caps are his) :
THERE IS NO RESERVE!!! I WOULD LET IT GO FOR ANY MONEY!

I don't see a lot of humor in that listing, other than the BIN price. I see a lot of English mistakes that suggest a non-native English speaker. But I think he was trying to make a legitimate listing. The BIN price could be naive optimism plus ignorance of real value. There is a school of thought that says posting a high BIN price encourages people to impute higher value to the item, and thus gets them to bid higher than they might otherwise.

Well, times are tough and that can drive people to do silly things in desperation. or Maybe he just read that book "The Secret" and he is trying to bring wealth into his life through positive thinking.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I like that Buy-It-Now price the seller has added. When I have listed things on Ebay, many times someone has sent me a message "Can you add a Buy It Now price?". Probably, they are hoping I would add some low price to the item. This TV will keep those people quiet, not that it is likely to get a lot of bidders anyway.

wilkes85 07-04-2009 05:16 AM

HAHAHA!!!!! I love the Buy it now" price, compared to the regular auction price LOL!

And "Monsterous mega console"... that's awesome.

That is a fuckin nice console though, I hope it goes to a good home.

All men are great...in their dreams...

kx250rider 07-04-2009 09:24 AM

The opening bid ought to the the buy-it-now... I'd laugh all the way to the bank if I could get $50 for one of those! And that seller's sense of humor will sour when he gets his eBay bill for that buy-it-now price!!!!!!!!

truetone36 07-05-2009 10:02 AM

I got one of these for free a few years ago. It's still sitting in my sister's house in Athens, TX. and I have no idea when or how I'm gonna bring it home. I'm able to go and get it with the truck, but how am I gonna sneak it past my wife?

Sandy G 07-05-2009 10:05 AM

An' its "For Sell"....Oh, Prunella....The guy is not only a 1st class Maroon, but an illiterate one at that...(grin)

veg-o-matic 07-06-2009 08:57 AM

Hmmm. Two different stories in the same listing:
"This is a monstrous mega-console that I bought for my own collection"
followed shortly by
"It was my granpas but he gave it to me to sell it so thats what i am doing now"

Yeah. I'll pay 15K for that...
