Did Sharp make a red color TV (13 inch or above)...

Because I found this extremely rare full red color Sharp vintage VCR at a local garage sale, and it's in like new condition. It would be really cool if there was a matching red Sharp TV to begin with. Did Sharp make a red color TV (13 inch or above)? Not interested in a portable TV. Thanks for your help.

I don't know about the TV but that is a cool VCR. The biggest red set I've seen was a 13".

What's the year it was built that you last saw. 13" is perfect. This looks cool as a retro 80s flashback design.

I've seen red Sharp sets in both 13" and 20", but I don't remember the model numbers. There was also a red Sharp set with a built in Famicon (Japanese NES), but that one was Japan only. There was a US version with a built in NES, but it was black.

I think it was made around 1982, but it was a while ago.

I've seen a 19 (0R 20) " Sharp in hot pink, so I bet they had that brick-red also. I bought a new 13" one in about '86 in red, to match the ugly formica kitchen counter we had at the time. Not a bad set, and it was cheap, and had a remote. I watched the Challenger tragedy on it live :(

Don't know about a red television, but , were there not a line of audio components from the mid 80's. IIRC Sharp was the manufacturer. I'll bet the folks on the audio side of the forum would know.

The model number escapes me at the moment, but I've had 1 model of low end Sharp receiver is red, black and silver.

Besides the TV, I learned from research that this is identical to Sharp VC-381 in silver color, and it's made in 1983. Ever serviced one and was it reliable?

As cheap as those are, they were reliable! All I remember being wrong with those, was a dirty mode switch and hardened belts & idlers.

Even Sharp's portables are pretty reliable and servicable. :thmbsp:

Sharp may have a red set to go with your machine, as many other Japanese electronics mfrs. in the '80s sold red-cased sets. I guess it was the cool thing to do, heh.
Ad. example from Sanyo.
