Sony Trinitron KV-9200 found
1 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone
Recently found an awesome Sony Trinitron KV-9200 9" TV at Habitat for Humanity. It is almost mint condition. Starts right up and produces a beautiful picture, every bit as bright and colorful as any newer Trinitron I've seen. This little set is perfect for my desk for the bit of TV watching that I do while using the computer. Couldn't find much information for this model on the internet, except I believe it's from 1974-1977 somewhere. If anyone knows something more about this I would love to know. I have always loved the classic Trinitron televisions and the gorgeous picture a Trinitron produces. I would like to collect more if I can find them. If there are any other Trinitron lovers here, I would love to hear more about or see some pictures of classic Trinitrons! |
They are EXCELLENT sets. My sister had a KV-9000-the 1972 version of this one-up til about 2000 when our house got a direct lightning strike.

Cool. I've always wanted one of those, but I've never seen one here. I don't know if a PAL version even exists.

I have a 9200 dated September 1975. Cute set, and a pretty decent performer. Had absolutely no need for it, but I felt sorry for it sitting there at the Salvation Army, so I adopted it. All that's wrong is the red antenna tip is broken.

I've had a 9200 in the past, and it's a GREAT little set!
I like & collect the small Trinitrons, and I like pre-1990 Sony TVs in general. I don't have a 9200 or 9300, but I do have a 9000U. I have all of the 3.7" models, all of the 5" models, all but 1 of the 8" models, and the 9000. I also have all 4 of the Profeel monitor series; the KX-370, KX-1211, KX-1901 & KX-2501. The big empty hole in the collection is the EXTREMELY rare KV-7010; a 7" Trinitron with a very primitive tube, and hard safety glass. There's very little known about it, and I've only ever seen one, and I spent 20 years as a Sony repair tech! If a 7010 ever shows up on eBay and I'm not totally broke, I'll be doing some hefty bidding... Charles |
Very nice! I used to have a KV9200 from 1975, it was a little beat up but had a great picture. Now I only have a KV9000 as far as the little guys under 12 inches go. Great save man.
