Is the case worth more than the TV?
|
Looks useful if you need a cabinet for a loose chassis...
|
Has it been sprayed with polyurethane? I could be wrong, but it seems to have that too-shiny look. Check out the knobs, for instance. I would ask the bidder for more info.
I saw that exhibit several years ago. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it was an awful conglomeration of stuff, including gutted TVs, some painted gaudy colors. Phil |
It does look too shiny, but I need the front plastic bezel. I haven't bid yet, but I'd rather use that one for parts than to scrap a whole VT-71 for the bezel.

Maybe it's the knobs they're after, those are really hard to find for some reason.
Who knows if they're usable or not, they may have been glued on permanently. |
" Its insides have been removed for hanging"! The death penalty for a VT-71!
Oh well, at least they didn't trash the cabinet. Kevin |
currently $76.50 with 4 days left , it will sell for around what a whole sell would be worth .

It's up to $310  I'm tempted to rip the insides out of mine, spray it with poly. and throw it up on eBay too!
|
I'll bet some one thinks it has a really nice bright raster! $310 wow

Too much Monkey business going on here.
Does it have more Cachet because it was in Epcot Center? Whoop-de-doo. If it was signed by Walt himself maybe. |

Looks like 3 of those tan knobs came of the tan leatherette cased model...
|
I can't believe how stupid people are, $310 is just retarded. What do they think they're getting? Like Eric said, Epcot Center....whoop-de-do. Effin people these days.........
|
Strange. Those knobs are hard to find, but they're not worth that much. If you look, it was just 2 guys that bid it way up, and notice that the high bidder raised his bid 3 times since he outbid the other guy.
