I found this EER321-G at the Salvation Army today. Built in May 1980.

I spotted it in the back area where the donations come in, it hadn't been priced or checked out as far as I know, I figured if it didn't work they might toss it so I asked them if they would sell it on the spot.

Turns out it works very well, the tracking and focus was a little off, it probably has a lot of hours on it but it adjusted up well. The volume pot is really dirty or bad.

Great picture on that set. Nice find. Bet it's a CTC-97 like my 1980 XL-100.

Nice one! That looks very similar to my CTC-85.

I don't think I've seen one like this for some time. I managed to hit a Goodwill today (nothing more than some overpriced radios from the late 60s) and the SA. The latter had a decent selection: a 13" color Zenith about the same age as this RCA, and a 13" Capehart that was just a little newer; several 12" bw sets including RCA & GE; a 19" Sears/Sanyo, one of those with the line of vertical buttons for tuning. Some were tempting, but not quite old enough for me. The thing I almost carried in to the cashier was a Magnavox toploader VCR, a later model, for $6. But, I have too many VCR's already. Had it been Beta, yeah.

They had a rear projection Panasonic out front that was so dim I thought the video was off entirely. I don't know who will buy it in that state. They also had a nice looking Mitsubishi 25" console from the 80s.

I think this set is similar to the one House has in his office on "House"
His might be wood grained though?

BTW this is a 15" set I think, I didn't know if you could tell from the pictures that it wasn't a 19".

Congrats! That's a fine little set - I have a '78 version of that exact set in my bedroom. One of my favorites.

The only difference two years made was a little more silver paint & woodgrain trim.

Awesome TV!
I got an '83 13" XL-100 [as well as an '81 25" console], but mine's the style with the one knob.

From my personal experience, these are excellent sets.
