More trash picking

Can never have too many old TVs! I'm just starting my collection. Think I have about 20 or so now. At one point I had more but some had to go. Later model junk anyway. Good luck with the Magnavox, that is a keeper IMO. :thmbsp:

Lucky.
I wish I lived in your area. |
The Magnavox has a Drexel cabinet. It should clean up nice! Fantastic find!

Early 60's, 23" screens were common; I don't know if Magnavox offered a 27" set - someone should be able to set me straight on that.
Finding stuff like this has to be one of the major upsides to living in a densely populated area. :) |
Magnavox did have a 27" set and remote control too.
I'm wondering if that set is remote, is that a hole for the receiver on the lower left speaker grille? |
That's a remote set. It may likely be a 27" as well!

Somebody ride by my house and I'll set out my "garbage." I STILL have a beautiful 1958-or9 24" Zenith Space Command (crt and chassis LIKE NEW) that needs a home that WONT make a fish tank out of it. If you REALLY like TV's, and promise to take good care of them, I will throw in a beautiful 1955 Magnavox. The Maggie works, but has a little HV trouble. I replaced the flyback as the old one went up in smoke. The new one works but started arching badly so I shut er down. Needs capacitors I'm sure. I watched this TV trouble free for several years. The fly smoked out back in the 90's and I retired it. Then the web came along and I found replacement parts. NOW I'm out of work like half of the country. I'm not trying to make money. The stuff is free. I keep the tubes.
I'm just finding good homes for things to lighten my load a bit. I just don't want to wait and have things go REALLY wrong one day and have to trash stuff in a hasty move. Also, I really could use the room. You can't keep everything forever...... Oh, I also have at least one boring 19" color set (works good) from the boring years (80s-90s) that I will throw in..... |
