For anyone who hasn't seen the trailer #3. The music to me is perfect and it's an amazing set up for hopefully a really amazing movie.

yeah I am anxious too, sofar all I have seen is the teaser on a DVD last month with just a flash of the Star Trek Insignia, music and a date.

Hollywood better not screw this up!!

Agreed; I hope they don't screw it up. On one level, the special effects and such are far superior to what could be done when the original/earlier versions were made, so that isn't the issue. The real issues are how well the story is written, how appropriate the casting is, and how skilfully the whole thing is put together. Worst case, I'll try to mentally separate it from the "real" Star Trek and try to enjoy it as a separate movie/story on its own. From the trailers, I'm cautiously optimistic; it may be a good movie. I look forward to seeing it!

I will see Star Trek opening day(still have to see Watchmen...).

I am very excited for the movie as well, will be there on opening day!

I'll wait until the reviews come out first.

You guys are a bunch of Star Trek nerds!! Yeah, I'll be there... :D

I am very much looking forward to this movie. I will assume that with todays technology they should be able to make a really compelling movie. I am almost sad that Enterprise as a TV series didn't make it. But.....I still can't...wait...for this movie!

I find movie critics to be useless. Oh and forget about depending on any trekkie's opinion of this movie, if their discontent for Enterprise is any indication...

Just a couple of things.
trailer #1: They use a flint striker and what appears to be the
same sort of welding equipment we use today. One would think by the
23rd century they would have something a bit more advanced
to weld the enterprise together.

trailer #2:
The Corvette scene looks like something that would be better
suited for a Mad Max flick than a Star Trek movie.

Not if young Jimmy stole his dad's 60ish corvette, and went for a joyride...

That olde outdated technology is the reason the Enterprise lasted for so long, maybe if they made 1701-D that way it would have lasted longer.

The corvette scene, I think that had more to do with what they were saying about Kirk as a character. I think they are trying to make this movie somewhat "unlike" previous Star Trek pieces. Me, I am fine with that, so long as it is well done.
