In 1984-1986, did Sharp make a 25" Linytron MTS Stereo TV?

I located a 1986 Sharp 25" Linytron that appears to be fully-loaded in everything, but it only has one speaker (mono). If you can recall in the 80s, did Sharp ever made a 25" MTS Stereo Linytron TV? From what I understand, Sharp did not make any Hi-Fi stereo VCRs but only stereo from 1985-1987. Thanks for your help.

I don't remember ANY of the Linytrons having an MTS tuner.

I've seen them. I can't name a model number, but they were 25" silver-colored pressboard table model cabinets in "monitor style", and they had flip-open doors over the speakers. They also had a smoked safety glass, making them look like a half-baked copy of a Sony Profeel. They were actually decent sets, for a Sharp... Early 80s, maybe '82?

I've got a 1985 one that is both Hi-Fi stereo, and linear stereo with Dolby. But it's a PAL only VCR, so your info may be correct for the USA.

In the USA, Sharp didn't do VHS Hi-Fi until 1988. Before then, Linear Stereo only. Their Pro-Feel copy monitor style set was actually very excellent for the money then. I still preferred Sony or Zenith CC II to one. Zenith was easier to service/get serviced in Podunk then. Alternatively, I liked the RCA Dimensia sets well.

Not true. Sharp offered only one Hi-Fi VCR model in 1984, which is VC-489U. I have this VCR.

If it helps, I had a 1985 Sharp VHS which was a 2-head monaural vcr. It did record very well, IIRC. Excellent color reproduction.

Mines a VC-488 - might be the same machine in PAL or NTSC variant?

It has every feature imaginable - except auto-tracking, and was 'TOTL', as they say, in it's day.
It's an amazing bronze colour - all metal front & buttons, hardly a trace of plastic.

I'm curious to know how long it lasted?
