First find of 2009
1 Attachment(s)
Scored big time today at the SA!
I was looking through the electronics section at the Salvation Army this afternoon when I spotted this, I couldn't believe my eyes! It works perfectly, has no damage other than a few light marks that will polish out easily. It was half off today so it cost me a whopping 10.00! :D |
Oh man, that is too cool. Looks like it will clean up nicely :thmbsp:
|
Lucky dawg...Give ya twenty fer it...Double yer money, right ? (grin)
|
Yep, I'd say you done real good! Isn't that from the mid '70's? I'll be hitting up my SA in the morning. I've got a feeling that 2009 will be a good year for finding older TV's.

I'm jealous!!!!
Great find  Is that one pink or white; can't tell from the photo? Those are very collectible these days. I had blue one about 15 years ago when they weren't collectible, and wish I'd kept it. Those are even more rare than the Sony version (KV-4000), I think. Charles |
That is way cool! I want one! Nice find!

Interesting little TV. It looks newer than '75. Maybe closer to '82 or '83 possibly? What is that video in white letters mean?
|
Never seen such a cool TV! I haven't found anything yet this year but I keep looking.
|
This one is white, pink would be cooler but hey, I'm not complaining. :D
It's from 1986. Several makers had bright colorful sets during the 80's, including Quasar who had a line of 13"? cube shaped sets with a remote that looked like a small TV, I wouldn't mind a collection of those either. |
IIRC, those l'il guys were made in ivory, silver, black & T!tty-Nipple Pink. I have 2-Pink & Ivory. The ivory seems to have gotten a yellowish cast to it over the years. Both have EXCELLENT pictures on 'em, though. They turn up infrequently on You-Know-Where. Both of mine are in excellent cosmetic shape other than the yellowing on the ivory one, I got the impression neither one saw a lot of use. And just for the record, they are from the mid-'80s.

Eric,
I have one of the Quasar (Panasonic) cube tv's but am missing the rare matching remote for it. Luckily another Quasar remote i had around will work it. It has that fantastic "panacolor" picture that Panasonic was known for. -Tony |

Wow, nice score for 10 bucks!
Tony V, I love those 'cube' Quasars... I had two at one point, a '85 and '86.... one was pink and one was white (yellowed :thumbsdn:) but neither had a working remote.....I managed to get one working but the pink one was a trashfind so it was long gone. Both got tossed due to lack of space....:nono: |
