Slumdog Millionaire
 

We finally went to see "Slumdog Millionaire" yesterday. It's possibly one of the best movies I've seen this year. My wife and I give it :thmbsp::thmbsp: and recommend taking the time to watch a truly well made and acted movie.
It has everything; gangsters, cute kids, violence, romance and humor.
Danny Boyle has also directed "28 Days Later", "Trainspotting" and my favorite of his, "Shallow Grave".

My son saw it and said that it was "crazy excellent". I saw the trailer before we watched "Milk" in the same theater--another great film.

Guess I gotta see it now. :yes:

My wife and I saw it this evening. Great film, go see it.

I saw this movie today and was impressed. Very good.

My wife and I saw it on the weekend. I thought it was the best picture I have seen in a while. My wife had a harder time getting past the poverty to really enjoy the film. She has not travelled to places where poverty occurs at these levels.

The poverty portrayed was really stark.

My daughter saw it.:thmbsp: Did you like " The Dark Knight"? Ledger was surperb. :tears:

my wife and and sat through it since the curosity over this flick was killing us. now i have to say that i cannot believe that it won best picture. there is something seriously wrong with society when a film like that gets rave reviews. good grief, i think the world is comming to an end:thumbsdn::thumbsdn:

Seen it and as bad as the slum in that movie was Behar is much worse and in Pakistan
Rawal Pindi,Lahore,Khanawal is so poor people die eating cardbord and dirty water just to have something to eat.
I have been in some very sad places and it will never change due to coruption and cultural belifes.
Sometimes the slums can be so huge police won't even go into the center of them as they would be out numbered by thousends with no escape in a place where people just disapear forever.

It was really a good film, AS soon as he put the pillow over the gun, that really was amazingly tense, his character reminded me of Scarface in a big way. The only part that was silly was the American Tourists and having their or cab drivers Mercedes jacked up. It almost like someone said, too serious need's some comedy. Not sure if it should have won all of the awards it did, but it certainly deserved to be up there.

Worse exist? Geez.

Won't go see someone else's supposed best movie
 

I refuse to participate in the Oscar Crap. I always find it absurd when they throw the supposed best films out in a hail of films around Christmas! It's like they don't pay attention to the previous 11 months! I find it all contrived, full of Hollywood politics and a load of Hooey!

BTW: in the movie they where showing slums near Deli,in Behar cardboard is often boild down mixed with a little sugar cain if you are lucky enough to find it and eaten.
The farms in Punjab are nolonger worked by Punjabi's as so menny have come from Behar in search of work that they have compleatly changed Punjab.
I'm glad an Indian film has made it's way to the main stream here. Bollywood has much more to offer.
I belive movies like this help us to understand one another better and why some are willing to work so hard here,scrimp and save to own there own buisness and get there kids in a good school.

This movie jarred my perception of India as an up and coming power. I then began to get myself informed.
