Remember, Remember..

Remember, Remember the Fifth of November
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot
I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot

Yes it is November 5th and time to watch V for Vendetta!!!! :thmbsp:

Ah, Guy Fawkes day! It used to be huge when I was a kid (nothing to do with the original meaning of course) But since the ban of fireworks here in the 80's it has completely dissapeared

"...In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.

Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you, and you may call me V..."

One of my favorite graphic novels and a damn fine film. The music's top notch too!

V has become one of a few movies I own that can be put in and watch all the way through or just for a few minutes.

They are all dystopian, Blade Runner & Brazil being the other two that come readily to mind.

loved the original gn. the flick piled on the pc to an excess, but ended well.

"Are you going to kill me?"
"I killed you five minutes ago."
"Is it too late to say I'm sorry?"
"It's never to late to say 'I'm sorry'."
"I'm so sorry..."

Just some curiosity about Australia
Do they really have a Guy Fawkes day?
And there are no fireworks allowed either?

Used to be celebrated, but mostly as an excuse to set off fireworks. Most parts of Australia fireworks are banned for the general public. In the Northern Territory (where anything goes) they are legal on Territory Day, plenty of drunken fireworks acidents on that day!
