The Man From U.N.C.L.E. - The Complete Series Out Now On DVD

:banana:For anyone who's a Man from U.N.C.L.E. fan you will be pleased to know that the complete series is out on DVD. It comes packaged in a really cool attache case! It's a 41 disc set and quite pricey...I got mine on sale at Best Buy and I didn't mind shelling out all that money (ouch!)...There's even a cool unaired pilot called "Solo" before it even transformed into the Man From U.N.C.L.E. So for those of you who remember the show, I just saw it in re-runs it's worth getting...By the way the bubblegum group Every Mothers Son makes a cameo in the episode the 5 Daughters Affair and they are singing "Come On Down To My Boat"...Hmmmm they sure don't make tv shows like this anymore....

Anyone with Derek Jacobi for their avatar gets my ear.

Yeah, Man From Uncle was special; my favorites being the B&W's.

This might be my Christmas request to my wife this year.

This is too good to wait for Christmas! The black and white- season 1 is one of my faves also...it got to be a little more comedic in it's last season that's why it probably got cancelled....Hope you can wait that long, I couldn't...

Got my copy from Amazon, it arrived last Saturday. I've only had time to watch the first 3 episodes, but man (from UNCLE), what fun! Here's a great trivia question from the show: what's Thrush stand for?

I give up! What does Thrush stand for? On a side note got my order of the two seasons of Robert Vaughn's next series "The Protectors"...not as good as UNCLE but not bad for a British Tv Show.

You can buy Season I from Time Life on sale for 40 bucks.

I think the other vendors require you to buy the entire set.

The later Seasons were not as good as Season I. I read an interview from Robert Vaughn that the producers changed the show into a campy comedy after Season I to compete with hot shows like Batman. He said Season I was clearly the best.

Cheers, Snade

I have to agree as Season 1 was the best..when it came down to Season 3 you could see it became Batman-esque...but I still liked it much better!

My wife bought me the 41-disk boxed set for Christmas. We've watched the pilot 'Solo', on Disk 11 and Disk 1, all 3 episodes. It will take us a while to work through these.
The transfer quality is excellent. We will have many enjoyable hours with this as my wife only saw some of the original shows as a very young child. For me, it's a walk down memory lane.

Hey, I remember that one!
I couldn't have been more than 10.
I had a cool U.N.C.L.E. pistol you could put a stock and silencer on.
I thought it looked bad with just the silencer on it. :smoke:

Ahhhh yes...one of my favorite T.V. shows of the 1960's. I was in Grade School when "UNITED NETWORK COMMAND for LAW ENFORCE" aired.
I'll have to look into the DVD set.

I LOVED the Elwood Engel Imperials they used...And Leo G. Carroll ! "Mr Waverley"...Loved him, too ! Didn't get to watch it much-I was 7 or 8 when it 1st came out, & IIRC, it came on after my bedtime, & my Mom was pretty vigilant on that...
