Space Phone
 

I picked up this set while picking up a couple others. At first I wasn't interested but he pleaded with me and it was really nice so I caved in for 10 bucks. Model number sz1973p. Zenith system 3 space command. With space phone and color sentry. This set is really nice. Great picture and the cabinet is nice looking for the period. It did not come with original remote though.

That's the one I have! I got mine new off the showroom floor 3 years ago from a good old-fashioned TV store. The guy who owns the place I got the set from said it retailed for $749 and it cost him a little over $500. And this is in 1984!

Original remote or not, you got a nice one. Heavy sukka, ain't it?

PS: if you wanted the original remote (which is the only way you could use the phone), you'd be looking for a Space Command 4300.

Seeing as I don't have a landline anymore, I don't foresee using it. But good info just in case! I keep an eye out at the thrift stores for remotes so who knows? It is a little heavy. It does have a great picture on it.

Space phone? If E.T. had known about it, the movie would have lost half its running time and much of the excitement.

I have that same model set in my bedroom. BEST picture on any set I have.
