Removing threads after auction closes
 

I am not sure on the proper ettiquette, or my spelling, but if I post an item that is on ebay that I think one of us might be interested in and the auction ends is it proper to delete the thread say 3 or 4 days after the auction ends to save space on the server?

Not sure Richard, but I've never noticed anyone deleting posts after auctions. They just become a historical record, so to speak.

I think they stay in the system for several months and then are automatically deleted by e-pay.

Personally, I think is an individual thing. Many times a thread about an auction will evolve into an intersting disucussion about what's for sale. Many times there will be a picture posted in the thread showing what's for sale, so we can always look back and see what the discussion is about even after the auction page is no longer available.
Other times it may not start a discussion, but may be an intersting or rare item, that somebody might want to see later on, which is then advantage of posting a picture, even though that really eats up space on the server.
On the other hand, if it is a post about a picture tube for sale and we all know what it looks like, it doesn't seem like something to look back on a year later in the archives.

Celt Richard is referring to the posts on AK's server not ebay's system which is purged after 90 days. I think any post for a sale item should not be still on the server after 30 days or so. We have had this discussion before but nothing has come of it.
