I have the entire series on DVD and the quality is excellent. Excellent bonus material as well - the original movie "Superman and the Mole Men", which ended up as the "pilot" for the series, as well as commentaries on certain episodes with Jack Larson (Jimmy Olsen) and Superman experts Gary Grossman and Chuck Harter. Highly recommended! :thmbsp:

I also have this entire series on DVD and agree with SDA's assesment.

Full feature film that ended up as the pilot then turned into a 2 part episode. I have " 'Mole Men" on VHS. There's a lot on the movie that's not on the 2 parter. Ron |

I love those old shows. Also the old-time radio shows. I think I've listened to almost everything on this site by now: http://www.radiolovers.com/ |

hello folks
just picked up all 6 seasons of the superman television show on dvd so i guess you know what i will be watching tonight and for some time . g6120 |
I watched it alot when I was a kid. Seems to be the only one where Clark Kent is not timid, but rather suave, cool and debonair.
I love how some goon always unloads his whole magazine on Superman, who stands their grinning, and then throws the gun at him. As if that would be lethal. |
if you watch the series you will notice some of the same gangsters also seem to make it back as other characters in other shows as well .
there was alot of tv shows way back then that used to get away with things of that nature and that cant be done today but i love the innocence of that area of television of the 50s and 60s . g6120 |

Those were Gleason's boys, an ensemble auxilliary of sorts. With regards to Superman, there always seemed to be some gangster named Lefty played by the same guy who looked more liken an insurance salesmen. |
