Little Zenith that got away

I went to the annual Seattle swap meet vowing not to buy anything, but later regretted not getting this smallish Zenith for $25. Cute, small enough to fit where bigger consoles can't. Of course it's not a priceless treasure, but the price was right.

When I go to such events, I usually make a first race around all the aisles, to see if there's anything I can't possibly live without, then make a second round to look more carefully. By the time I got back to this stall, the TV was gone.

Just for the record, can anyone ID it?

Wow Phil, that's a nice set.

I almost hate finding things like that any more because I either feel compelled to buy them and I'm over run already, or I have to pass it up and that makes me feel bad.

That is a 1951 model set. It is the rectangular version of the H2250R porthole that I used to have. I don't know the model number off the top of my head.

Similar to my 1951 Zenith J2042R

Mine is a 17" CRT, that one looks larger, proabably 21". Great price, great condition. I would have been weak and bought it on the spot.

I have that same set. It is restored and working. It was a very easy restoration.
