Shibaden Control Camera Unit Cu 1200
I believe the subject fairly rare this c.c.u. control camera unit CU 1200 Shibaden that fed a color camera Shibaden FPC 1212, three tubes plumbicon 1" (B&W photos) that belonged to the TV station where I worked in the 70s in Firenze.

I've actually used one of those long ago. Although i don't think it had Shibaden written on it. I wonder if more than one manufacturer put its name on this CCU/Camera.

If I remember correctly they were also sold under the Hitachi name.

Wondering out loud...Did any RCA TK-41s make their way across the big pond, other than usage by the American networks ?
|
Sandy,
How about south of the border? My old station in Illinois went color in 1967 with a used TK-41 from the Jack Paar studio in NY via RCA resale. When the wonderous TK-42 came around, they bought one...just one...and the TK-41 was re-sold by RCA to some station in Argentina or nearby. Dave A |
In Italy only TV network Rai had the RCA TK 41 in the'60s when was the first experimental transmissions in Rome. Private tv in hand cameras were Sony, Ikegami, Hitachi, Jvc. often bought used. the CU 1200, for example, was in possession of a racecourse near London and the color camera chain was used for filming TV racing horses. in attach some photos while RAI experimental broadcasts TV . on www.firenzemedia.com siite you can search for "la guerra della tv a colori in italia"

Yes, it was Hitatchi CCU that I'm remembering. I seem to remember it was a little squirley to setup, not particularly stable.
By the way, very nice pics, I like the last one in particular. David |
