Humour me for a minute...
So I was sitting thinking of a new project to work on and I remembered seeing a really nice old slide projector at my local camera shop. I have also been watching a lot of Curb Your Enthusiasm on my mp3 player recently and it got me thinking...
If I was to buy a mini LCD screen like this... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-5-Mini-Color...QQcmdZViewItem And pop it apart and mod it into this... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-NORIS-...6.c0.m14.l1318 Would that work? Assuming the above projector can accept 2" slides. If not I can opt for a more expensive 2 1/4" Projector. Am I missing a really obvious problem or am I good-to-go? |
Whoops! Sorry, I never realised there were different TV forums. Please feel free to move.
Sorry again! |
Heat would be the big issue, I think that a video projection lcd has different coatings than front view lcd's. There was a fellow here who made a nice projection system out of a monitor lcd using a lens and several cfl bulbs as a light source. the larger lcd had less lumens per sq in to deal with. which means less heat per sq in. Good point. I would need to look into different coatings. There should be enough space to slide any whatever is necessary between the bulb and screen.

Wish this would work, so there would be some demand for the dozen filmstrip projectors I saved from the trash a couple months back!
