Rescued this one from the same shop I got the other sets. This set is a monster to move! What year could this set be? Iwill have to go out and get the chassis number. It is missing the yoke! Any leads on where to get one?

I think this is a '69 or '70. I got one exactly like it from the recycling days last Nov. and it was missing the speaker!

i have that exact set that was my grandparents.
a note on the backcover says they got it mid 69.
the yoke died on this one and grandpa bought a new one but never got it converged and it was buried in the basement 20 years.
iirc it is a 12a12c52 chassis.
i got mine working perfectly but spares are nice.

Looks to me as if the knobs for the picture controls are missing as well, unless the shafts are black and aren't showing in your picture of the set.

That TV looks like it will live again, and make a very good picture, if you find a new or good used (NOS) yoke for it. Zenith equipment, until the GS age of the '90s, was built to last, and the sets worked very well--for years and years--when set up properly and in good condition. I have a great-uncle who had a 25" Zenith Chromacolor II console in the mid-70s which lasted some 20 years or more, although I think he may have had the CRT replaced at some point late in its life.

The cabinet of your set is in excellent condition as well, at least from the front.

Yes, those consoles were heavy as anything--I know, as I have owned a few of those sets (Zenith and other makes), and they were the heck of a thing to get into my basement, not to mention getting them back out when I moved (the first time) in 1972.

I feel for you guys with lots of TVs in your houses--it will be a big job getting them out if and when you have to move, especially if you have a lot of heavy consoles. It's best, I guess, to keep them in a storage locker (as Doug is apparently doing with his old Zeniths, and I probably will do as well if I ever get back into collecting old sets).

Yes, I think the control shafts on this one do not have any real knobs.
