Heathkit IT-5230 CRT Tester

A few weeks ago we discussed an earlier B&K tester, and I was told that
the model in question was rather ancient and not recommended.

A friend of mine, who is a competent kit builder, has lent me his
Heathkit unit with the above model number. Is it safe to connect
this to my CRT? Thanks in advance for your comments.
