Wristcutters

If you liked Repo Man, High Fidelity, Harold & Maude, Fight Club, & a few other off-the-walls, you will undoubtedly like this one. It was a delight for me.

Plot Summary -

It's a love story. Guy slashes his wrists and ends up in Hell. Hell for him looks like a rundown wasteland. Everything is shabby, dusty, & broken. There is a community there, stores, cars, bars, people working. He just tries to find his way along and picks up a few new friends in the process. This was one of those films where I kept waiting for it to derail but it did not. All the way through it is solid. It is a dark comedy and non-linear so be warned if you are looking for immediate clarity.

Thanks for the tip. Sound like something I would enjoy.

Not that its at all similar, but I watched No Country For Old Men again with my wife last week. The ending (or apparent lack of one) drives her nuts but I thought it was perfect.

Damn good movie. The Black Hole under the passenger seat of the car is pure hysterical genius.

I've been trying to get this at Barnes and Nobel, it's funny some of the reactions I get.

Great movie! I loved it. I am not one to pay attention for long enough, but it kept me reeled in.

I agree with echo... black hole is hilarious.

The black hole, and how everyone reacted to it was very cool. What was so sad to me was a sky without stars.

The ending of that movie really made the journey worth it to me.

Spoiler :

When that guy tried to kill himself in that land, I got a sense of him going to hell. It seems the decisions you made there would send you on to either heaven or hell, or at least a second chance.

Just me?

I am foggy on traditional dogma, but didn't suicides go to Limbo first?

In hindsight I think that is where they were rather than Hell proper.

So, you are likely correct with your observation.

I watched this the other night. Cute little movie. Good music-I ordered the soundtrack.
